Updating Club Constitution & By-Laws

Tuxedo Tennis Club is planning some changes to its constitution and by-laws. A special meeting to deal with proposed amendments to the Constitution & By-Laws will be held on Tuesday, October 4th at 7:30 PM in the Tuxedo Lawn Bowling building. You can review the proposed amendments which are posted to our web site as well as in the club house.

This special meeting will also, in the process, determine when our next Annual General Meeting will be held.

Fall Club Championship Tournaments

The Fall Championship Doubles Tournament was a great success and could not have done it without the help of John Cramer, Roland Burrell and Susan Beckwith. There were 46 entries, with all participants taking home some goodies. The food was provided by Topo Gigio, which included two kinds of salad, pasta and chicken. We finished the lunch off with a delicious cream cake which had written on it the words, "Tuxedo Tennis Rocks."

A great time was had by all especially the winners who were, Phil Spevack and Martin Beckwith (men’s doubles) with runner-ups of Dan Kibsey and Errol Sequeira. Brenda Lybacki and Selvi Varathappen won the ladies doubles, with Ricky Silver and Kelly Fraser as the runner-ups. The consolation winners of the ladies doubles were Jane Romaniuk and Shelley Smith, with the runner-ups being Carole Loeder and Judi Park. The mixed doubles winners were Dan Kibsey and Brenda Lybacki against the finalists of Joan Schumacher and Edmund Brochet, and the consolation winners were Joe and Dawn Cyr with consolation finalists of Natalie Addis and Kevin Judd. As of this report, the Parent & Child events are still being played.

Congratulations are also in order to Joe Cyr who was the Fall TTC Men's Singles Champion. Joe went undefeated throughout the tournament round robin. Special mention also goes to Martin Beckwith who finished second.

See you on the court!

Joan Schumacher, Club Manager

The Gift of Tennistennisburrell academy

Roland Burrell would like to thank all those that participated in Tennisburrell Academy programs this past season. A lot of fun was had by those that attended lessons, summer camps, and after school programs. Some new students have even joined Tuxedo Tennis Club as a result of their new found love of the game. Roland is currently scheduling for the fall indoor season and would like to remind you that gift certificates are available for those that wish to give the gift of tennis.
